The Policy, Planning and Communication Division is responsible for the development of evidence-based policy advice that is in line with the sector and national objectives. Ensure effective and timely M&E of the implementation of Annual Management Plans of the Ministry. Undertake economic and statistical analysis on issues pertaining to primary production, domestic and international trade, and food and nutrition security. Manage the collection, organisation, analysis and dissemination of agriculture statistics and information, and Communication services. The division consists of the following 4 sections:
The functions of the Policy Section involves development of evidence-based policy advice and economic analysis on issues pertaining to primary production, domestic and international trade, and food, nutrition and income security
The function of the Planning Section is to ensure effective and timely development of the Ministry’s plans in alignment with national objectives and timeframes. Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of key performance indicators of the Ministry to better-inform Mid-year reviews, annual reviews, annual reporting, and facilitation of the Corporate Plan implementation
The function of the Agriculture Statistics and Trade Section is to centralize and manage the collation, analysis and dissemination of reliable and timely agricultural statistics and mappings. Annually notifies and update the WTO on domestic support and export subsidies in agriculture
The function of the Communication Section is to manage and coordinate the Ministry’s communication services and ensure effective dissemination of information through media programs, publications, and digital library/resource center
